OUR story

Prior to the second world war, a young Italian man, Cosmo Nesci travelled from his home town in Calabria to settle in Perth, Western Australia where he purchased 1,000 acres of rugged bushland in Lower Chittering where he and his family initially farmed Hereford cows.  Over the years the property has been developed by three generations of Nesci’s to become Nesci Wine Farm Estate that we now know today.  
 
In 1948 it was Cosmos’s eighteen year old son Antonio, who planted some of the first vines in Chittering.  Antonio and his wife Carmela, were strong resourceful people who cleared the land by hand and together planted & tendered vines that today yield some of the best wine-making grapes in the region. 

After finishing his trade in 1983, Antonio & Carmela’s son Kevin who was born and raised on the property and worked alongside his parents from a very young age continued the Nesci tradition of hard work by managing the 500 acre estate, farming Silver Grey cattle and winemaking. Kevin has grown the vineyard to include 60 acres of vines and in the late eighties established the Nesci Estate Wine Farm Cellar Door where he continues to sell a range of delicious wines, ports & liqueurs from more than a dozen grape varieties grown in the best grape growing soils and with his team host functions, events & performances
